About The Director
Michelle Robertus is a proud alumni of the University of Minnesota, where she earned her Bachelor of Music in Music Education and played clarinet in the University of Minnesota Marching Band. She attended St. Michael-Albertville High School in St. Michael, MN.
Ms. Robertus has been the band director at New York Mills since 2014. Her responsibilities include directing the 5th grade, 6th grade, Junior High, and Senior High Bands; teaching 5th and 6th grade small-group band lessons; directing the Pep Band at football, volleyball, wrestling, and boys and girls basketball games; directing the Junior High and Senior High Jazz Bands; teaching summer band lessons to new and current elementary band students; and directing the New York Mills Marching Eagles. She also serves as the Minnesota Band Directors Association (MBDA) North West region treasurer and organizes region band events with her fellow board members.
When not at school or playing in community bands, Ms. Robertus enjoys spending time with her husband and their two cats. She is also a die-hard Gopher sports fan. SKI-U-MAH!
